he Lab In-Charge is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials, molten metal, in-process
materials, and finished aluminium wire rods. The role ensures the required chemical composition, electricalconductivity, UTS, dimensions, and other quality parameters meet customer specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect and approve incoming aluminium raw materials.Conduct chemical composition analysis and prepare the alloy recipe as per customer requirements.Share the required chemical composition with the Production Department before melting.Monitor quality during melting, casting, rolling, and coiling operations.Verify molten metal composition before casting and recommend corrective actions.Inspect finished wire rods for diameter, surface finish, ovality, weight, conductivity, UTS, elongation,and other specified parameters.Perform chemical, physical, and mechanical testing.Prepare Chemical Analysis Reports, Material Test Certificates (MTCs), inspection reports, and qualityrecords.Maintain calibration records and ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment.Coordinate with Production to resolve quality issues and minimize rejection and rework.Supervise laboratory personnel and support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.Required SkillsKnowledge of aluminium metallurgy and wire rod manufacturing.Expertise in chemical composition control, conductivity, and UTS testing.Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and quality documentation.Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.Qualification: Diploma/B.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a relateddiscipline.Experience: 5–10 years in an Aluminium Rolling Mill, Aluminium Wire Rod Plant, Continuous Casting Plant,
