Freelance AI Solution Architect | Belgium | 12‑Month Contract (Extendable)

Location: Belgium (2 days/week on‑site)

Contract: Freelance – 12 months + extension

Our client is launching a major transformation of their Payments & Contracts function and is seeking a Freelance AI Solution Architect to lead the design and rollout of AI-driven improvements.

This is a greenfield role with full freedom to explore, define, and implement the AI roadmap — followed by the opportunity to hire and lead AI engineers to deliver the solutions you design.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Analyse inefficiencies across Payments & Contracts workflows
• Define the AI strategy, architecture, and priority use cases
• Build PoCs to validate AI/ML approaches (LLMs, NLP, automation, document intelligence, anomaly detection, etc.)
• Work with stakeholders to align business needs with technical solutions
• Build and lead a small AI engineering team to deliver the roadmap

🎯 Ideal Profile

• Proven experience as an AI Architect / Lead AI Engineer
• Strong background with LLMs, NLP, ML pipelines, RAG, automation, and cloud AI services
• Ability to design end‑to‑end AI solutions in process-heavy environments
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
• Freelance/contract experience is a plus
