AI Product Engineer

Location: Chennai, India Role Overview We are seeking an innovative and results driven AI Product Engineer to drive our strategic shift toward a Service-as-Software model. This role is central to transforming our proprietary service methodologies into automated, scalable, and client-facing software applications. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of AI-powered services, leveraging the Google AI ecosystem, specifically Vertex AI for deployment and MLOps, and state-of-the-art models such as Gemini to create reliable, high-impact solutions for our clients. Key Responsibilities 1. AI Service Development & Delivery ? Service-as-Software Ownership: Design, build, and deploy client-facing, scalable services that automate core business offerings, integrating Generative AI using the Gemini API and Vertex AI ? Logic Translation: Work with subject matter experts to translate complex service workflows and proprietary knowledge into robust, repeatable, and scalable software architectures ? Solution Architecture: Determine the optimal structure for AI services, focusing on patterns like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases (Vertex AI Vector Search), and advanced prompt engineering. ? Full-Stack Development: Write clean, production-grade code in Python and relevant back-end services necessary to power the client application and service APIs. 2. MLOps, Customization, & Optimization ? Production Readiness: Utilize Vertex AI MLOps services (Pipelines, Model Registry, Endpoints) to build and maintain automated CI/CD and deployment workflows, ensuring high availability and reliability. ? Model Customization: Apply customization techniques, including prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), to align Gemini and other LLMs with our proprietary domain knowledge Required Qualifications ? Bachelor?s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field ? 5+ years of total experience in software development, with at least 2+ years focused on building and deploying AI/ML applications in a production cloud environment. ? Expertise in Python and strong proficiency with modern software development principles ? Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) for building complete service user interfaces ? Demonstrable experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and core AI/ML services, including deep familiarity with Vertex AI. ?
