Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and uninterrupted functioning of all engineering utilities and infrastructure across the Corporate Campus. The role is responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, water systems, civil infrastructure, and related facilities while ensuring statutory compliance, vendor management, cost optimization, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Utility Management
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical power distribution systems, transformers, HT/LT panels, DG sets, HVAC systems, water generation and distribution systems, STP, and associated utilities.
- Plan, execute, and monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance activities for all engineering services.
- Ensure optimum performance, reliability, and safety of all utility equipment.
Facility Maintenance
- Supervise maintenance activities related to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, civil, carpentry, painting, and general infrastructure.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize operational disruptions.
- Monitor the overall upkeep of the corporate campus.
Team Management
- Allocate daily maintenance activities to technicians and maintenance staff.
- Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to the maintenance team on new equipment and systems.
Vendor & AMC Management
- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) for engineering equipment and facility services.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for timely execution of maintenance work.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Procurement & Inventory Management
- Identify maintenance material requirements and coordinate procurement with the Purchase department.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of spare parts and consumables.
- Ensure timely availability of critical maintenance materials.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets.
- Optimize maintenance costs without compromising equipment reliability.
- Track OPEX and support CAPEX planning for infrastructure upgrades.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain records of electricity consumption, DG operation, diesel usage, RO/STP operations, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment history, inventory, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and obtain/renew necessary government approvals and certifications.
- Ensure adherence to internal compliance systems such as CATS.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Liaise with Purchase, Finance, Projects, Corporate Communications, Security, and other departments for smooth execution of maintenance activities.
- Support infrastructure arrangements for corporate events, annual functions, Navratri celebrations, and other campus activities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Utility uptime and equipment availability.
- Preventive maintenance compliance.
- Breakdown response and resolution time.
- Maintenance budget adherence.
- AMC compliance and vendor performance.
- Energy and utility cost optimization.
- Statutory compliance.
- Safety and audit compliance.
- Customer satisfaction from internal stakeholders.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering may be considered with relevant experience.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in engineering maintenance, utilities, and facility management.
- Experience in corporate campuses, pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing, or industrial environments is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in electrical systems, HVAC, DG sets, water treatment systems, STP, and building maintenance.
