The Payables Associate is responsible for handling payment of bills for all Medvet locations, in addition to coding and organize invoices to be entered for MedVet and related companies including inventory, supplies, outside lab bills, transcription, legal and accounting. The accountant may assist with accounts receivable duties as needed.

What you'll do:

  • Seek Approvals, verify GL codes, post items to the GL, and pay vendor bills in Mineral Tree.
  • Code and enter invoices for MedVet locations.
  • Sort incoming mail, scan documents inbound for coding and scan documents outbound for approval.
  • Work closely with internal MedVet departments to ensure proper and timely validation and approval of vendor invoices.
  • Review statements for MedVet vendors and check for missing invoices. Follow up on any problems.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and work with vendors on any discrepancies.
  • Watch for address changes and make sure checks are sent to proper place.
  • Verify all vendors, accounts and departments for invoices before they are entered.
  • Select bills for payment based on due date.
  • Track vendors subject to 1099’s, obtain W9’s and set up accounts appropriately.
  • Assist with accounts receivable cash application, discounting, classification changes and ring group as needed.


Who you are:

  • 1-2 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs including MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Working knowledge of AP software such as Intacct is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AP automation software, digital scanning and digital approval tracking.
