Accountant, APAC Controllership

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
• 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• 7 years of work experience in a financial reporting or business finance role.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, and with SQL along with knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience of business partnering with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a cross-functional, fluid environment and to lead and drive the operational initiatives.
• Understanding of management reporting, stakeholder management and accounting principles including India Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) standards.

You will have attention to detail, and have excellent problem-solving skills to support Google's business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of all processes related to controllership for a specific product area in India. Collaborate with global Business Finance and Controllership teams to ensure consistency and efficiencies, including contributing to system and process transformation initiatives with central functions.
• Support relevant controllership teams on compliances including SOX requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant Indian accounting standards, regulatory requirements and tax regulations for the respective Google entity in India.
• Perform analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of local books and records.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual close presentations for accounting and controls management and Maintain an effective internal control environment.
• Recognize potential areas of risk and develop risk management solutions.
