Role Description The Academic Advisor role at Weskill is a full-time, remote position supporting undergraduate learners throughout their training journey. In this role, the Academic Advisor provides guidance on course selection, learning pathways, and skill development aligned with students’ academic and career goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting one-on-one advising sessions, offering student and career counseling, answering queries via email or virtual meetings, and monitoring academic progress. The Academic Advisor collaborates with education and training teams to identify learner needs, recommend appropriate resources, and help students navigate challenges. The role also involves maintaining accurate advising records, contributing feedback to improve curricula, and promoting student engagement and retention.

Qualifications

  • Strong student-facing support skills, including Student Counseling and Career Counseling.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Academic Advising and Education, preferably in higher education or online learning environments.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication in virtual settings.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse learners and provide inclusive, unbiased guidance.
  • Experience using online learning platforms, productivity tools, and virtual meeting software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple students and priorities remotely.
  • Demonstrated interest in career development, employability skills, and industry-aligned training for students.
