Associate - Embedded OS Developer Agnikul Cosmos is a space-tech startup based at IIT Madras, focused on building small satellite launch vehicles. We specialize in fully 3D-printed rocket engines and modular launch systems. Our flagship vehicle, Agnibaan, is designed for flexible, on-demand access to space. In 2024, we achieved a milestone by launching the world?s first single piece 3D-printed rocket engine from India?s only private launchpad. If you find comfort in staring at core dumps and decoding stack traces like it?s a Sunday puzzle, this is definitely for you. What would you be doing? Designing, developing, and maintaining Linux kernel components ? including device drivers, subsystems, and kernel modules. Optimizing Linux kernel performance and improving overall system efficiency. Bringing up support for new hardware platforms within the Linux kernel. Debugging and resolving kernel crashes, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks. Collaborating with hardware and system teams to ensure seamless software-hardware integration. What You Need To Have: Deep understanding of Linux kernel internals ? memory management, process scheduling, inter-process communication. Strong proficiency in C programming, with solid hands-on experience in the Linux environment. Practical experience with device driver development (PCI, UART, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, etc.). Familiarity with debugging and performance profiling tools (GDB, ftrace, perf). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in debugging low-level kernel issues. Working knowledge of ARM and x86 hardware architectures. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
